Yes, I realize I suck and have not posted in awhile. I’ve just been having a difficult time juggling life. For the first time in my life, I had to find a balance between work and school. Throw in boys and a social life into the equation, and you’ve got yourself some confusion.

I’m on my winter break right now. I just finished fall quarter, and I got my first B. I’m not terribly bummed out about it, but it was just weird to see a B, haha.

Now, I’m off to clean my room from this holiday mess. Hope everyone’s holidays are going well, and we’ll see if I can get this blog up again :)

Here’s a holiday treat for y’all… I made a pumpkin roulade for Christmas Eve dinner!

I’ve been so overwhelmed with school — I had two midterms on Monday, so I got behind in my econ class to study for those two classes! My midterms went well, but we’ll have to wait to see the grades!

So I DID get the job, and I started on Monday. I’m working twelve hours a week with Wednesdays off. I’m so excited and happy to be enjoying my afternoon off right now. My duties aren’t too demanding. I’m an office assistant for housing services, and the department just began a project to database all the old documents from the pre-computer days. This requires photocopying papers that have sensitive information on them and blacking out that information, so we can scan it in later. I’ve been going through people’s old files from as early as 1982. It’s tedious because I just make copies, but I found some fun in it.

When I get a big file, I like to look at that person’s information and create an interesting story. On my first day, I really enjoyed coming up with his story because I was going through his papers for two whole hours! What’s cool is that the papers went in chronological order, so I would find new twists and turns to every story. Tomorrow I have a four hour shift, so I’m going to have to entertain myself by meeting new people via old files :)

I haven’t found time to nap or go to the gym these past two weeks because of work-related things and studying for exams. Actually, I also went to Knott’s Scary Farm, but that’s another story. Anyway, I haven’t put my locker to use at all! Tonight though, I am going to play indoor soccer with my floor in the housing league, so I’ll finally be able to get some exercise in!

I’m finding my math homework to be particularly difficult, so I’m taking a break! I tried to study hard for my econ quiz that was yesterday and stayed up until 4:30am to study for an 8am quiz. It was hard. I have two midterms on Monday, but I’ve got time, hah. I already exercised my productivity by getting a lot of today’s crossword done and writing my C++ homework :)

So… I think I got a job! I interviewed to work for the Housing department in general at my university. Yesterday, I went to get fingerprinted for a background check, and they asked about my hours/availability and asked for my authorization documents! I’m super stoked to have a job because I’ve never had a real job!

I just don’t know how many hours to work… I put that I’m available 15 hours a week, and they’re willing to give me 20 whole hours a week! Being a university student, I think that may be a bit much. I’m thinking about working 12 hours a week with a day off on Wednesday. Most of my classes get out at lunch time, so I can work after and basically choose whatever hours I want. They seem really open to my schedule, so I’m looking forward to it. I don’t mind working on Fridays either because I’d rather allot more time to study on my own time on the days that I do work during the week :) What do you guys think about my work hours?
